Head Coach
Quinn Irey
Coach Irey has been teaching and coaching in West Fargo for 7 years. He teaches PE/Health at Horace High School. He spent two seasons as the assistant coach for Sheyenne High School and was hired in February of 2022 to be the head coach at Horace. He also spent three years as the assistant coach for the West Fargo Patriots Legion Team. Before he began coaching and teaching, Coach Irey spent two years with the FM RedHawks after he graduated from the University of Jamestown in 2018. Coach Irey and his wife, Bryn, live in West Fargo and have a 2 year old daughter, Isla.

Parker Janske

Coach Janske played varsity baseball in Andover, Minnesota. Upon graduating from Andover High School, he continued his baseball career at Anoka Ramsey Community College before then transferring to the University of Jamestown where he finished his college baseball career. Hon Jims! Coach Janske is in his fourth year of coaching as he led the C team in the 2022 inaugural season. He is also in his third year as a elementary teacher in Mapleton, ND. Coach Janske and his wife, Bethany, live in Fargo.
Preston Kath

Coach Kath, a Wahpeton, ND native, has been a great addition to the coaching staff. A graduate of Mayville State University, Coach Kath has been teaching for eight years. He spent two years teaching at Wahpeton Public Schools and was the assistant baseball coach as well as the 8th grade boys basketball coach. Coach Kath is in his third-year teaching math at Horace High School. Coach Kath is also the assistant boys basketball coach for the Horace Hawks. Coach Kath recently completed his graduate degree in secondary administration from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. Coach Kath has served 10 years for the Air National Guard out of Fargo, ND. Coach Kath currently lives in West Fargo with his wife Liz and their two daughter, Claire and Chloe.
Matthew Swanson

My name is Matthew Swanson and I teach 7th grade life science at Heritage Middle School. I grew up in Casselton, ND. I played all my summer baseball for Casselton and for Central Cass High School. I have also played multiple seasons of amateur baseball in both North Dakota and Minnesota. My coaching experience in baseball includes every level from t-ball all the way up to legion and high school teams. This will be my 12th year of coaching some level of baseball. Outside of work and baseball, I like to spend time with my family. I also enjoy time at the lake, golfing, playing disc golf, and hiking. I am looking forward to a fun spring working with the baseball program.
Kendall Schieve

Kendall Schieve is in his 4th year with the Horace High School baseball program. The last two years he was an assistant coach with Sheyenne High School baseball. Prior to that, Schieve coached for nine years at Rugby High School in Rugby, ND – 2011 as an assistant coach and 2012-2019 as the head coach. Schieve graduated from Rugby High School in 2003 and attended Minot State University after. He works for Nodak Mutual Insurance Company as a Claims Adjuster. He and his wife, Carrie, live in West Fargo and have 3 children; Bevin, Claire, and Miles.
Cody Hughes
Cody spent 3 years coaching for MSUM club baseball, 3 years coaching Post 400 legion, 5 seasons coaching at MState Community College and 1 year coaching West Fargo Legion. Before he began coaching and teaching, Coach Hughes played 1 year at Brewton Parker College, 1 year at MState and 3 years at MSUM before graduating in 2015. Coach Hughes, his wife, Christine, and their 4 children live in Fargo. Coach Hughes will serve as a volunteer assistant for the program.
